In recent times many concerned residents in Belgooly Tidy Villages have contacted me about the high speed of vehicles passing through the village. To protect the safety of others proactive measures need to be taken to curtail such speed.
On Monday at The Cork County Council Joint Policing Committee meeting I asked the Gardai for their time frame on placing a Garda gasto speed prevention van in the village.
Chief Superintendent Con Cadagon informed me that a Gasto van will be in place in Belgooly in the very near future after necessary engineering works are carried out. This is a positive step for the safety of people walking in the village.
